Army Corps of Engineers. Responsible for the implementation of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act dealing with wetlands.

U.S. Department of Agriculture is the federal division responsible for food and agriculture including, natural resources and environment and rural development. It encompasses many agencies and programs.

NRCS
Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) provides leadership in a partnership effort to help people conserve, maintain and improve our natural resources and environment. They are responsible for developing and carrying out many of the conservation cost-sharing programs in cooperation with landowners, operators, and others. (EQIP, WIP, AMA )

US Forest Service
Is responsible for projects to improve water quality, usually high in the watershed. These usually include fencing cattle from riparian areas in their grazing permit areas and bridging streams that are crossed by trails and roads.
